Back-to-School Classroom Grants
Teachers often spend their own money each year to prepare their classrooms for students. To help support local educators as they begin the school year, State Bank of Bement is awarding nine $200 classroom grants across Monticello, Bement and Cerro Gordo school districts.
A total of three teachers from each district will be selected:
- One elementary teacher
- One middle school teacher
- One high school teacher
Grant funds may be used for classroom setup, supplies, decor, organizational needs, or other material that help create a welcoming learning environment.
We invite parents, students, and community members to nominate a teacher who is making a difference.
Nomination Timeline
Nominations open: June 22
Deadline to submit: July 24
Awards presented: August 3
Eligibility
To be eligible, the nominated teacher must:
- Be a current K-12 teacher
- Teach in one of the three eligible local school districts
- Cannot receive nominations from other school staff members. No self nominations.
- Each teacher is eligible for one award through this program only.
How Winners Are Selected
Teachers who receive multiple nominations may be placed on a shortlist. Final selections will be made based on the overall strength and quality of the nominations received.

- Submission of a nomination does not guarantee selection
- Duplicate nominations may be reviewed together as part of the same teacher's submission file.
When filling the Comment box please be as specific as possible. Please describe how this teacher supports students, creates a positive classroom environment, goes above and beyond, or makes a meaningful impact in your school community.
