State Bank of Bement respects the privacy of customers and other individuals who visit our website and mobile application, or use our online and mobile banking services (collectively, the “Services”). We are committed to protecting the personal information that we collect when you visit, use, or interact with us through the Services in accordance with this Online Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”). You can use many features of our website or mobile application without providing personal information. However, we may ask that you provide certain personal information when you access parts of our Services, contact us, or receive additional information from us.

Types of Information We Collect 

We collect two basic types of information through our website and mobile application: (i) personal information; and (ii) anonymous information, each of which are defined below. In addition, we may collect certain anonymous information specifically regarding your visit to our website or mobile application. 

Personal Information 

Personal information refers to information that identifies (whether directly or indirectly) a particular individual or customer. For example, you may provide personal information when you: (i) complete an online application for a new banking product; (ii) enroll in our Services; or (iii) complete online fields with your contact information. Usage and Analytics Data 

As part of our collection of anonymous information, we may automatically collect information about your visit to our website or mobile application that includes, but may not be limited to: the time of the visit, browser type and version, browser language, information about your operating system and platform, the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer or device to the Internet, and your geographic location. An IP address is a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you access the Internet, but does not identify you by name and is unconnected to your email address or any other personal information. 

Such information is used for analytical purposes and to help us provide services to our customers. We also may use this information to administer and troubleshoot our website or mobile application.  

We use Google Analytics to track and analyze usage of the website and mobile application. Google Analytics generates statistical information about website and mobile application usage by means of cookies, as described above. The information generated by Google Analytics relating to website and mobile application usage are used to create reports about these tools.  

We also use Google Analytics to determine where users of our website and mobile application are located through the geolocation of an individual’s IP addresses. This information only provides a snapshot of the geographic location of such users and is not retained. Google Analytics immediately discards IP address information once it has temporarily geolocated the user.  

By using our website or the mobile application, you authorize us to collect anonymous information about the webpages that you access, including through the use of Google Analytics. As described above, this information will be used for the purpose of preparing aggregate website and mobile application statistics. 

Linked Websites 

We may provide links to third-party websites or locations (“Third-Party Site”) on our website or mobile application. You will know you are leaving our website or mobile application when you see a pop-up alerting you that the link you have clicked will direct you to a Third-Party Site. Another entity may collect personal and/or anonymous information from you at such Third-party Site. Our provision of a link to a Third-Party Site is for your convenience and does not signify our endorsement of such other Third-Party Site or its contents. We have no control over, do not review, and cannot be responsible for, these Third-Party Sites or their contents, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to these Third-Party Sites. We encourage you to read the equivalent privacy policy of every website you visit.  

 External Aggregation Services 

Aggregation services, such as Quicken, allow consumers to view all of their financial information on a sole dashboard, regardless of internal institution connectivity. To use these services, only individual consumers may provide the sensitive personal, financial, and account information that these services require.  

The provision of account credentials—including usernames, passwords, and other account details—to third-party services like Quicken is solely your responsibility. We do not control or take responsibility for the security, privacy, or use of information once it has been provided to such third-party services.  

Please use caution when providing personal information to an aggregation service. By sharing your username, password, or other account credentials with such a service, you may be authorizing that third party to access your account and potentially to initiate transfers to or from your account.   

Online Advertising 

From time to time, you may see an advertisement for our products and services on Third Party Sites and mobile applications. We use third-party advertisers to distribute our advertisements on such websites and mobile applications where we have paid to advertise. These advertisements may use tracking technologies to capture information, such as IP address and device usage, to determine the effectiveness of our advertising efforts. Our advertisers are prohibited from using any information collected about you, except to help us to track advertising effectiveness.  

Online Planning Tools 

We make financial planning tools, such as mortgage and savings calculators, available on our website and mobile applications. We do not currently collect, retain, or store information that you enter into one of these planning tools. These tools are provided primarily for informational purposes and may not be accurate, complete, or current. We make no representations of any kind regarding their accuracy, reliability, or suitability. You are solely responsible for how you use these financial planning tools, and you should not rely on the results without independent verification, including in consultation with financial professionals where appropriate.  

Children’s Privacy 

This website is not directed towards children. We do not market to children, nor do we knowingly or intentionally collect or retain personal information from children through the Services. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received information from a child, we will endeavor to delete it promptly.  

Policy Updates 

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time to accommodate new internal or industry practices, technologies, regulatory requirements, or for any other purpose. We will post the revised Privacy Policy to this page and will revise the “Effective Date” section above. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will become effective upon the posting of the revised Privacy Policy through our Services. By continuing to use the site following the posting of either a change notice or the revised Privacy Policy, you will be deemed to have agreed to such changes.
