State Bank of Bement Steps Up to Help MCA

BEMENT, Ill., March 31, 2026 — State Bank of Bement has made a significant donation to Monticello Christian Academy to support the school’s playground project, which is nearing its full funding goal. The gift underscores the bank’s ongoing commitment to investing in the well-being of local families and the development of safe, accessible spaces for children to learn and play.

The new playground is designed to provide a modern, inclusive environment that encourages physical activity, social connection, and imaginative play. Once complete, the space is expected to serve the school community and complement youth programming.

“Our mission has always been to strengthen the communities where we live and work,” said Ken Wright, President and CEO, State Bank of Bement and Chairman of the Piatt County Nursing Home Foundation Board. “Supporting Monticello Christian Academy’s playground aligns perfectly with that mission. We’re honored to help bring this project across the finish line so students have a welcoming place to grow, explore, and thrive.”

“Every day, I see firsthand how much our towns value safe, high-quality spaces for children,” said Michelle Gross, Monticello Community Bank President and Chairman of the Board. “This playground is more than a place to play—it’s a place where generations connect, stories are shared, and community comes to life.”

“Piatt County Nursing Home and Monticello Christian Academy are incredibly thankful for State Bank of Bement’s partnership and support of our intergenerational project. Their very generous gift brings us one step closer to our goal of making this special vision a reality.” Said Amber Warmbier, Monticello Christian Academy Administrator.

With fundraising in its final stages, the bank encourages community partners to join in supporting the project’s completion. Monticello Christian Academy plans to share updates on construction timelines and community involvement opportunities as details are finalized.
